Summer Opera in Toronto? Yes please!
As part of the Summer Modern Intensive opera training program, AtG and UofT Opera present an evening of contemporary opera scenes staged by Michael Albano and Joel Ivany with set and lighting design by Jason Hand. Featuring works by John Adams, Menotti and more modern American composers for a political treat put on by our Summer Modern Intensive participants.
The event takes place at MacMillan Theatre (with the audience sitting right on the stage!) in the Edward Johnson Building (Faculty of Music) on University of Toronto Campus. The theatre is accesible through the lobby. The closest subway station is Museum station, and the closest station with an elevator and escalators is St. George station. From St. George, travel west on Bloor Street, and then down Philosopher's Walk. Please note: there has been construction on the path near the Royal Ontario Museum with some objects blocking the path.
This program is approximately two hours long with an intermission.
